Why weren't the Catholics happy with the changes Elizabeth 1 made to religion?

They thought that it was good and it was bad at the same time. The catholics obviously thought it was great and the protestants thought it was really bad and also religion in England just kept on changing non stop.

Roman Catholic AnswerFor the most part, people were happy with their Church and very attached to their parishes. Henry VIII, his son, Edward, and particularly, his daughter, Elizabeth I made life miserable for the average Catholic. They mutilated the Churches, destroyed convents and monasteries, turned monks and nuns out of their homes. All but one of the Bishops, and a great many priests, of course, refused to go along with having their faith denied and gutted. Many holy people were martyred, and many, many saints were made. Men had to go the continent to study for the priesthood, and then lost their lives when they attempted to bring the comfort of the Sacraments to the people in England. Catholics lost their property, their livelihoods, and in many cases, their lives, all because the monarchs had a personal agenda. It was a very sad time in England.
