Suicide. It states that when one commits suicide they are throwing away God's most precious gift, which is life. Therefore, when one commits suicide, it is an unforgiveable sin (and in many cases, by committing suicide, you are denied a catholic, or proper, burial). But for most of the other sins (greed, gluttony, lust, anger, etc.) if you repent before you die, all is well, and you are forgiven in God's eyes.
My personal belief is coming to the Lord, knowing who God is, and then rejecting His Holy Spirit. Others can add to this.
God does not make mistakes
The one unforgivable sin is suicide. Suicide is murder, and there is no time to repent for it before you die. God is a righteous judge with power much greater than man and I'm sure he will let you atone for the sin once you reach the tunnel leading to the gates of heaven, but supposedly, suicide is the one unforgivable sin.
The day you were born.Answer:"...Sin is the transgression of the law." (I John 3:4)"The Law" that we transgress that defines sin in God's eyes, is the Ten Commandments."...Is the Law sin? God forbid. Nay I had not known sin, but BY the Law: for I had not known LUST, except the Law had said, Thou shalt not covet." (Rom.7:7)"Thou shalt not covet" is the "tenth Commandment."Therefore... a "forgiveable sin" is "repenting of having broken any of God's Ten Commandments"... and asking the Father in heaven, through Jesus Christ, His Son, for His mercy and forgiveness. To have it blotted out.An unforgiveable sin is refusing to repent of breaking God's laws and thumbing one's nose at His Mercy and Lovingkindness -- or utterly rejecting His Sovereign Authority over His creation.A person's abject, willing refusal to bow to the will and laws of his Creator is "unforgiveable" with Him."...those Mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before Me." (Luke 19:27)
For simply thinking of an example of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is not a sin. That is trying to learn exactly what God means about such blasphemy. God is never put out by his children asking questions and trying to understand. But we also know that God looks at the heart to see what's REALLY going on. The unforgiveable sin is intentionally and on purpose going out of your way to insult God with blasphemy by giving credit to Satan for the good work of the Holy Spirit. That, God says, is unforgiveable because it is done on purpose just to insult God.
The difference of them is that the Venial sin is not really deadly, but the mortal sin is very grave. It also not allow you to enter heaven and purgatory but the eternal condemnation in hell, while the venial sin can put you to purgatory, not straight to heaven.
No. God cannot sin.
Sin. God hates sin.
No, it is not possible for God to sin.
Grieving the Holy Spirit is the only unforgiveable sin... Some people say that it is suicide? I believe this, but also believe that there are many things that grieve the Holy Spirit (makes him sad) ex. not listening to him when he tells you what to do.
There is no unforgivable sin.AnswerThe only unforgiveable sin is the sin against the Holy Spirit. Since the Holy Spirit is the one who helps us believe, many consider it thus to relate to a final and consistent rejection of the promptings of the Holy Spirit to believe. This is at the heart of it, although saying bad things about God would certainly be included along the way.
God is perfect and without sin.
