8. Right Concentration: Focussing on the dislike, jealousy or greed that causes you to lie or gossip is not concentrating on the benefit to yourself or others
In addition the action of lying or gossiping is against the goals of the Divine Abodes:
Equanimity: Holding all things in an ease filled balance. You are obviousky jealous r hate filed towards the object of your gossip
Lovingkindness:The spontaneous reaction to all beings. You are not demonstrating this
Compassion: The reaction to others pain. Youa re causing pain and enjoying it
Sympathetic Joy: The shared delight of the good fortune of others when we become aware of it includes the shared pain of causing others pain.
