There are quite a number of details contained in the four Gospel accounts which demonstrate an accurate geographic knowledge of the Sea of Galilee. When one considers that a number of the disciples were fishermen by trade and fished on this Lake this should not be surprising. In fact, it would be surprising if it were not so.

A number of details are found to be accurate such as:

The weather on the Lake - it is prone to sudden and violent storms (including wind).

The surrounding topography - there are steep slopes, such as a herd of swine (pigs or hogs) could rush down into the Lake.

The size of the Lake - it is not too large that it cannot be easily traversed in a few hours by the smallish type of boats used in the first century AD. On a moonlit night Jesus would have been able to look down from a surrounding height and easily see the disciples rowing hard against the wind.

The fish in the Lake- the Lake is fed by both the Jordan River from the North and by springs. Although relatively shallow it is known to be a rich fishery and was so in ancient times.

The temperature- at one point one of the disciples is recorded as working naked in the boat. This would not have been unusual given the high humidity and temperature on the Lake (the local climate is effectively sub-tropical) and of course the difficult manual labor.

Some examples:

Luke 8:2323But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

This indicates very specific knowledge and accuracy in describing the winds which would have descended (as they still do today) from the heights above the Lake. Thus Luke accurately knew the origin of the wind, not just the fact that such a wind occurred.
