Buhddists do not worship. In buhdism, everyone is an equal. We seek enlightenment, which in summary is to step out past the limits of what your mind can see, and to understand and accept the emotions and thoughts of the human brain. We do not consider any special place"holy", but the Stupa is thought a more peaceful and special place to meditate.
Well the Christians were the ones who launched the crusades and they did this because they couldn't safely travel to Jerusalem (which they called the Holy Land). They couldn't make safe pilgrimages to Jerusalem any more because the Seljuk Turks (who were Muslims) were conquering a lot of land aroundJerusalem. The Christians launched the first crusade and they captured Jerusalem. But they owed some of their victory to the Muslims who were already breaking off into different states. Four Reasons people went on crusades: • Christians couldn't make safe pilgrimages to Jerusalem (The Holy Land) • Seljuk Turks were taking over too much land around Jerusalem • Muslims were making it hard for Christians to get to Jerusalem • Christians wanted to be able to go to the Holy Land because it was a great religious site for them (it was also a great religious site for Muslims and Jews, for all different reasons)
The Immaculate Conception is a holy day in the Catholic Church that celebrates the belief that Mary was conceived without original sin. It is a feast day that honors the belief that Mary was chosen by God to be the mother of Jesus without any sin from the moment of her conception.
When the prince who was to become the Buddha left his palace to seek a way beyond ageing, sickness and death, it is said that one of the first things that he did was to shave off his hair and beard and put on the yellow cloth . Buddhist monks always completely shave their head and beard, showing their commitment to the Holy Life (Brahmacariya) of one gone forth into the homeless life. (In India some ascetics tear out their hair, while others never touch it so that it becomes a tangled mass.) A rule states that a bhikkhu should not allow his hair to grow beyond a certain length or time, so he will shave usually at least once a fortnight or month, sometimes more frequently. To do this he uses his razor, which is also one of his requisites. 'Hair-of-the-head' (kesa) is one of the five parts of the body mentioned in the ordination ceremony and is used to recollect the true nature of the body. The bhikkhu is also not allowed to dye or pluck out any grey hairs, for they are useful reminders of old-age and impermanence.
Some of the trees that grew in Jerusalem during the time of Jesus include olive trees, fig trees, palm trees, and cypress trees. These trees were used for various purposes such as food, shade, and building materials.

There are several Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. Probably the most important is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, but there is also the Via Dolorossa, Golgotha, Mount Zion, Tomb of the Virgin, Grotto of Gethsemane, the Chapel of the Ascension, and the Armenian Patriarchate in Jerusalem at St. James Cathedral. There are two major important Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem, Masjid al-Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock Shrine. The Dome of the Rock Shrine covers the area of the Former Jewish Temple and therefore has tangential significance to Christianity, but Christians do not usually go there when they make pilgrimages to Jerusalem. Otherwise, the two religions share no holy sites in Jerusalem.
Yes they have teachers and monks that teach the Buddhist philosophy.
Buddhists have monasteries, shrines and temples, not churches. In these places we hold teachings and train monks, nuns and lay people in the teachings of the Buddha. There is no worship at these places or any other Buddhist holy places because we believe in no gods, not even the Buddha (he was just a man).
Yes Buddhism does have holy books, and they are very important to Buddhist. The Tipitaka, is the believed to be the direct words of the Buddha.
Every religious group wants to exercise political control over its holy sites in Jerusalem and does not wish to bequeath them to any other group.
Jerusalem is considered to be the holy place for Judaism, but not for Christianity. While much of the New Testament was written concerning Jesus' life in Israel, Christians do not consider Jerusalem to be a holy place. Christians believe that God can be worshiped at any place and any time on the planet; they also believe their bodies are living temples thus there is no need for a physical temple (Bible, 1 Corinthians 6:19)
There is no holy city of Buddhism. There are, however, four places that the Buddha recommended that his followers visit, namely, his birth place, where he woke up or became enlightened, where he gave his first sermon, and where he died. According to the Buddhist teaching (dharma), there is no place is that more holy or sacred than any other place. Each place is equally sacred. That is why there is no holy city of Buddhism.
