Gathering the things of value takes a strong man. Money must be worked for, even if it is stolen. Learning abstract concepts takes years of practice, Lying requires the liar to know the valuation of the lie and the truth and to evaluate it for best results, that's a lot of effort. etc, etc, etc...
But a truly poor man will not waste his life on those temporary unsatisfying pursuits...and by default will live a holy life.
