It's more like Jesus Christ found me. We lived across the street from a Bible believing New Testament church. Many good Christians there taught me The Bible and introduced me to Jesus Christ. I understood the plan of salvation and thought I was "in" because I went to church a lot. The Holy Spirit told me "not so". At that point, I accepted Jesus as my Savior, that he died for me on the cross. I asked him into my heart.
A few years later, I recommitted my life to Jesus and began studying the Scriptures in the Bible in detail from Genesis to Revelations. For the first time, I was able to put the entire picture together of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and their relationship to humankind. I began to know Jesus more as a person and he began working more miracles in my life that I never imagined before. My faith in Jesus Christ grew each day and he's still teaching my new things every day.
The four Gospels could be considered biographies of the mortal Christ and the book of Acts could be considered biographies of some of the Apostles.
No Book in the Old Testament ever mentions Christ or prophesies his coming. However, pious Christians, from the author of Matthew's Gospel onwards, have found Old Testament passages that they could interpret as referring to Jesus Christ. One of the favourites is Isaiah 7:14, because the Septuagint version of this passage appears to refer to someone born of a virgin.
A:Nowhere is the Lord Jesus Christ mentioned in the Old Testament, nor does it contain an actual appearance of Jesus. However, the gospels do symbolically compare Jesus to Adam, Moses, Elijah and Wisdom (Book of Proverbs), so we could choose to regard these as appropriate references.
Thousands of people saw him, he talked with many of them so he was alive, and he was seen ascending into the sky. Christianity would not have been able to get any kind of a start if the body of Christ could have been shown to still be in the tomb. It could have been soundly thwarted right at the beginning - and there was no shortage of people who were keen to do so. No body was ever produced. The Gospels are historic documents in their own right, and all the writers were witnesses or associates of witnesses to the resurrection of Christ. Their accounts have minor variations indicating a lack of collaborative effort and a harmony indicative of a historic event. Almost all of the disciples were prepared to die horrendous deaths for their insistence on what they had witnessed. They could simply have stated it was a hoax and saved their lives. Instead they endured all manner of persecution. An entire new way of living was begun since Jesus appeared to hundreds of people following the resurrection and these people spead the news and changed the world. This could not have happened from some prank. Christians also have the witness within of the Holy Spirit which testifies to the truth of Christ's living presence. This cannot be understood from the outside, but those who have become Christians know without doubt that Christ is indeed alive.
Easter is the Christian celebration of the remembrance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, brought back to life after he was crucified in our place so we could receive salvation.
