Yes. He was kidnapped and brought to Ireland as a slave. He had to work in poor conditions and only had his faith as a strength and consolation. He eventually escaped, then studied for the priesthood and eventually returned to Ireland to undertake the task of preaching Christianity. All of these things were not easy, so certainly he had struggles and problems.

What is the story of St. Patrick?

When Patrick was young he was kidnapped by Irish slave-traders and taken to Ireland. Patrick's life had been very easy before this as his Father was very high up in authority. When he was in Ireland Patrick was sold to a Tribal leader to work as a shepherd. He had been working as a shepherd for six years not coming into contact with any humans in that time. He had become devoted to God and had begun to pray 100 times a day and again at night. One day whilst Patrick was washing in a spring he had a vision from God saying that there was a boat waiting to take him home. Patrick ran away, managing to evade any of the tribe trying to catch him and returned to England.(More to be added later...)
