Juma, which literally translates to Friday is the most religious day of the week for Muslims (similar to Saturday for Jews and Sunday for Christians). Muslim men are obligated to pray the afternoon prayers (refered to as Zuhr) in the mosque with the congregation. The Imam or preacher also gives a sermon and the prayers or namaz (farsi/urdu word for prayers) is shorter than the regular Zuhr prayers (Juma prayers are 2 Rakat Faraz vs 4 Rakat for Zuhr). If a person misses their Juma prayer then they are obligated to do the regular Zuhr prayers.
Juma prayer is a congregational prayer that is performed on Friday with a sermon delivered by the imam. Zuhr prayer, on the other hand, is one of the five daily obligatory prayers in Islam. Juma prayer replaces the regular Zuhr prayer on Fridays for men; it is recommended for men to attend Juma prayer at the mosque, while Zuhr prayer can be performed individually or in congregation any day of the week.
You cannot offer juma prayer at home alone, it must be offered in congregation (jamaat) whether you arrange it at your home or in the mosque with other people. You should listen to the khutba of the Imam. ...
