No we do not believe in purgatory, but we do believe in hell. We believe that when a person dies they remain in a temporary sleep until the second coming of Jesus. Heaven and Hell comes after the eternal judgment at the end of time
Seventh-day Adventists do not believe in the doctrine of purgatory. They believe in the finality of judgement at the Second Coming of Jesus, where people will either be saved or lost. They also believe in the existence of hell as a place of punishment for the wicked, but it is not eternal conscious torment as in some other Christian denominations.
Several religions believe in the concepts of heaven and hell, including Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Sikhism, and some forms of Hinduism and Buddhism. These concepts generally involve a belief in an afterlife where individuals are rewarded or punished based on their actions in life.
Some religions that believe in hell fire include Christianity, Islam, and certain sects of Hinduism. In these belief systems, hell fire is seen as a place of punishment for those who have committed sins or have not followed the teachings of that particular religion.
Beliefs on repenting sins after death vary among different religions and cultures. In Christianity, some believe in purgatory as a place of purification and repentance. In Islam, it is believed that repentance during one's lifetime is crucial, as there is no opportunity for repentance after death. Ultimately, it is a matter of personal faith and interpretation.
The concept of the seven levels of hell is a belief that originates from Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, a medieval poem. In this work, Dante describes Hell as having nine circles, each representing different sins and corresponding punishments. The idea of seven levels of hell may be a simplification or misinterpretation of this concept.
Well we can say "yes" and "no". Why? Because they do not believe in it. They don't think any of it exists and all the people who are moral and immoral will just die and go back to the way they were before they were born. And "yes" because if they know it exists and the day of judgment is soon than of course they will be scared.
Most Protestants believe in Heaven & Hell, but, no Purgatory.
No, not all religions believe in a "purgatory". Some believe in just a Heaven and Hell and some don't even believe in that. The Baha'i Faith teaches that Heaven and Hell are spiritual states or conditions that one's soul attains as a result of that persons actions and attitude in this life. One does not have to be physically dead to be in Heaven - near to God, or Hell - distant from God.
Purgatory is a Catholic non-biblical based belief in a plane between heaven and hell were one's soul will amend for any sins during it's lifetime.
Hell is worse than purgatory.
If you are sent to purgatory, you are guaranteed a place in hell because that is where sinners wait for their fate.
OpinionYes, when a soul enters purgatory it begins the cleansing process, (removal of sins) so the soul can be purely good and so worthy to be entirely in God's presence (heaven). In other words a soul in heaven is guarenteed a place in heaven.OpinionSome churches believe that Purgatory is a temporary state before you can go to heaven. While some other churches believe that it is a place for those not good enough for heaven, but too good for hell; and once in purgatory you remain there indefinitely.Other churches do not believe there is a purgatory at all; they believe that after death people go directly to heaven or hell depending on how God judges them.
probably in purgatory!
In Catholic theology Purgatory is a place that a Christian’s soul goes to after death to be cleansed of the sins that had not been fully satisfied during life. Other religions do not believe in this.
To my knowledge - which is not much (although I'm a Catholic myself), it's heaven, purgatory and hell. Not sure what exactly purgatory is, but basically it's a waiting room where you wait to go to heaven and prayers are your ticket in. According to popular belief (mostly from movies and novels), purgatory is sometimes worse than hell. Hope this helps.
Seventh-Day Adventists believe that death is exactly what it's name implies. That a person dies. Instead of how most Baptists believe how a person goes to Heaven or Hell when they die, SDA's believe that the soul and mind dies along with the body. According to the Bible, "the dead know nothing."
There is one, but they don't believe in re-incarnation. A person goes to Heaven or Hell based upon how they lived life on Earth. There is no purgatory (as taught in Catholicism).
I would depend on whether the person was Catholic or Protestant. Catholics believe in purgatory, which is neither heaven or hell, but a place souls waite for the judgement of Christ. Protestants disreguard the whole purgatory story (I rhymed), believing that the soul goes directly to heaven or hell. Belief in ghosts were thought to be tricks of Satan not dead relatives.
