St. Terence Feastday: April 10

250 AD

With Africanus, Pompeius, and companions, a group of fifty martyrs who were cruelly martyred during the persecutions of Emperor Trajanus Decius. According to tradition, they were forced into a pit filled with serpents and stinging reptiles; those who survived this ordeal were beheaded.

St. Terence Feastday: June 21

1st century

Bishop and martyr. One of the early bishops of the Church, he served as head of the Christian community of Iconium. Some modem scholars and hagiographers speculate that he might be identified with the Tertius mentioned by St. Paul in his Letter to the Romans.
