The meaning of the word "religion " is a particular system of faith and worship based on a belief that mankind is committed to.

Such commitment ought to be based on solid knowledge which originates with God's requirements.

We can all get to know God personally by learning about him and taking steps to please him. The Book of James 4: 8 reads. " Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you. cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you indecisive ones. The Bible assures us that " he is not far from each one of us".--Read Acts 17: 27.

The Bible says: " All Scriptures is inspired of God." according to 2 Timothy 3: 16,17 and beneficial for teaching and setting things straight.

The Book of Psalms 83: 18 reveals God by his name, which is Jehovah. Read Malachi 3: 16 which encourages us to meditate on God's name.

By telling us his personal name, God has introduced himself to us, which is the first thing we all do when we are interested in getting to know each other.

Never should we trust a book by its cover but by its contents. So is it necessary to belong to an organized religion? The Bible's answer is yes, because God wants people to gather for worship. The Bible says: let us consider one another so as to motivate to love and fine works. Hebrew 10: 24,25.

The Bible does not teach that a person can please God by just being a member of a religion. To be approved by God, a person's religion must affect his everyday life.-- James 1: 27reads: " The form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God and Father.

So the Bible is quite clear, God does not approve any kind of religion, but the religion that honours His name and requirements.

So to answer your question which is: Do we need religion and why?

Well! Mankind was created with the need to be guided by their Creator. Adam and Eve were suppose to be committed to their heavenly Father, if they wanted to live a happy, healthy life, forever on earth. Read Genesis 2: 17.

Adam knew that he did not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and bad that he would not die. That command in Genesis 2: 17 would have made no sense if Adam was meant to grow old and die.

Jeremiah 10. 23 reminds us that " it does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step". So humans need to get together and learn about their Creator and let themselves be ruled by God's teachings and requirements.

Our life depends on our Creator, whose will is that all sorts of people should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth, according to 1 Timothy 2: 4 and John 17: 3. The choice of our religion has to be based on God's teachings and not on all sorts of misleading philosophy.

The Bible is the only Book that speaks about our past, present and has a lot to say about our future.

Yes we need religion. Most people in the world are being forced into thinking all that science crap. We need to know that God is the one who gave us life, who created us. And we need to worship him for that. Anybody who does not, will be punished along with satan.

The need for religion varies from person to person. Some find comfort, guidance, and purpose through their religious beliefs, while others may find fulfillment and meaning in other aspects of life. Ultimately, the decision to practice a religion is a personal one.

Religions are not necessary. You should see no obstacles prevent you in your path of life. If anything hinders the thoughts of justice, love and humanity then such things (even if it's a religion) may be rooted out completely from the world. A religion's motive must be developing the friendship, love and moral among people not the partiality and sectional feelings. A religion should not act like a political party. The leaders of the religions are also human beings. They did not come from God. They read the religious books and preach. You can do this yourself. You need not join in a group and shrink yourself and get yourself separated from the outer world.

One can study in any school or college to acquire the knowledge he/she needs for his/her better future. In the same way one can read any religious matters to acquire moral knowledge for a better life. Joining in something, behaving like political party members will cause only head-ache and unnecessary tensions.
