Animistic rituals celebrate the workings of the spirits that animate the world, or make them visible thereby reinforcing their existence. When spirits die or pass away ceremonies and rituals can be held for their passing as well. Human beings are also spirits included under animistic notion, as well as certain flowers, rocks, anything the animistic mind groups under 'having spirit', although all things would fall under a larger spirit. Anything that can be grouped under 'spirit' and has not yet been grouped under 'spirit'.

Periodic rituals are rituals that celebrate seasons in the year or commemorate specific historical events. Cyclical rituals tend to have impact on the entire society; they take place at certain times of the year and reaffirm and keep the cycle of things going. Like all rituals, there is so much meaning to these rituals.

An animist is a believer in animism, a belief that spirits inhabit some or all natural objects or phenomena.
Animists generally believe that all living beings, including animals, plants, and even inanimate objects, possess a spiritual essence. As a result, many animists may avoid eating certain animals or plants they consider sacred or that hold particular spiritual significance. Additionally, some animist traditions may prohibit the consumption of specific foods based on cultural beliefs or rituals associated with reverence for nature. However, practices can vary widely among different animist cultures.
There are different types of animism, but a person who follows an animist path is generically called an "animist."
