It is natural to want to be around others who are like you, but it is a true test of religion to be able to reach outside of one's own comfort zone. The New Testament teaches that a test of true religion is to be able to help the widows and orphans and still remain without blame. So the goal is to be in the world and be an influence, without turning hateful and without becoming like the world and absorbing its values.

4. To a certain extent, it can transform lives. While Alcoholics Anonymous is not a religion, it has a number of spiritual principles built in, such as looking at yourself for who you are, making restitution, and helping others who share the same struggle.

5. It can give you a sense of belonging and purpose. So many people are in despair because they have no sense of purpose in life, or they feel they are not a part of anything beyond themselves.

I am a senior in High School I have been a Christian for four years and every day i wake up I see that without the love of Christ Jesus My life would be nothing. If you don't know Christ I don't just recommend seeking him but i would say do whatever you can tC get to him because his love keeps me going he is the reason for life.
