The Hindu uses many different forms of prayer in their devotions to God.
For the Hindu, a prayer is a scientific expression of the Soul.Throughout the millennia the Hindu yogis experimented and practiced the ancient science of prayer gradually evolving it into different techniques so as to be more useable to the general masses.
One branch of Hindu devotional prayer is called Bhajan or Kirtan.Bhajans are simple songs or chants to the God that when applied correctly bring about great changes in the devotee. Vibrations from devotional singing can lead one into attunement with the Cosmic Vibration and even bring on deep mystic states such as Samadhi.
In Bhajan, the devotee chooses a spiritualized song ie, a song with deep spiritual meaning, infused with love and devotional prose generally by a saint who has used that song or chant to receive actual response from God.
Those who want the best results from bhajans should chant them alone or with true devotees of God with deep attention, spiritual fervor, conviction, love and enthusiasm.
Examples or soul-saturated songs and how to sing them correctly can be found in the teachings of Swami Sivananda, Paramahansa Yogananda and other great saints of the Hindu tradition.
The best book I have come across so far on Bhajan (Singing-Soul Prayer) is called Cosmic Chants by Paramahansa Yoganandapublished by the Self-Realization Fellowship.
Bhajan is wonderful part of the Hindu tradition and helps the devotee in developing Bhakti (Love through devotion).
Another branch of Hindu Prayer is Mantra - the science of Sound vibrations, similar to Bhajan, except this is not accompanied by music and is generally chanted alone during ones spiritual Sadhana (practice).Mantra is an advanced form of prayer.
A mantra is carefully chosen or received by a guru and chanted either out loud, as a whisper or silently. According to the law of mantra any mantra intoned correctly out loud has its effects upon the physical - a mantra chanted as a whisper so that even a person sitting in front of you would not be able to hear it has its effects upon the mental realm and any mantra intoned silently ie mentally in the correct manner has its effects upon the psychic and spiritual planes.
A mantra consists of a word or several words from the Sanskrit language which have certain sound vibrations which help the devotee attune his consciousness to higher planes as well as invoke specific subtle energies into and around the aura, making it more dynamic and capable of expressing higher aspects of Cosmic Truth ie, love, wisdom, joy etc
Some great info on Mantra and its practice include:
Meditation and Mantras by swami vishnu-devananda
Essence of Yoga by Sri Swami Satchidananda
The A-U-M cassette by the Aetherius Society
Initiation into Dynamic and Soul Mantra by the Aetherius Society
Realize you Inner potential by Richard Lawrence & Sir George King.
In addition to Bhajan and Mantra the yogi uses what might be regarded as: Spiritual Prayer or Dynamic Prayer in their devotions.
In Dynamic Prayer (yogic prayer) the Hindu uses his knowledge of the subtle manipulation of energies, correct techniques and guru-given instructions to make his prayers scientific.
There are many slightly different techniques in prayer, some more effective than others.
Its up to the prayer as to what technique he or she wishes to adopt according to the tradition one belongs and type of spiritual practice or even belief one has.
I would study the following books on the correct techniques of prayer based by the great Hindu proponent and spiritual teacher Paramahansa Yogananda, entitled:
Journey to Self-realization
Whispers from Eternity
In the Sanctuary of the Soul: A guide to Effective Prayer
How you can talk with God
Metaphysical Meditations
Scientific Healing Affirmations
to name a few!!!
India has a high percentage of people who follow Hinduism as their religion.
The Jamestown people were primarily Anglican or members of the Church of England. However, there were also individuals of other Christian denominations present in the Jamestown settlement, such as Catholics and Puritans.
The RC religion is made up of people that hold, and were previously, followers of the Jews religion. The religion has changed since then, but Jews and RC's have the same beliefs apart from RC believe in Jesus
Not sure if you are asking is there a religion for just white people. The Bible states at Acts 10: 34,35 that God is not partial, but in every nation the man who fears him and does what is righ is acceptable to him. So our creator loves all people the same and therefore no racial division should exist among those who are truly adhering to God's word.
Because people interpret things differently and want to believe it (what they believe) their way. For example: Even when Paul the Apostle was still alive and preaching the word, he had to deal with this very problem. Some said they were followers of Jesus, some said Paul, etc. He tried to explain there should be no confusion about this, he was not crucified for their sins. That the church should not become divided like this. Today, some people believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit others do not, and it goes on and on. I am sure this is what happen in many religions.
Freemasons are from many religious traditions. As a result, they all pray differently. In other words, Jewish freemasons will pray differently from Christian freemasons. The members of this fraternal organization will observe the same rituals during their meetings or events; but in their personal lives, they pray in whatever way their religion has encouraged. Freemasons do not tell their members what religion they should be.
'la religion', it is the same as English but pronounced differently!
ignore them and/or pray to your God
They wish and pray for the exact same things straight people wish and pray for.
No people do pray in different ways.
The same place they go in England depending on there religion
Every Muslim has the same prayer ritual. shia: the answer is true. but sunni people pray salat Taravih that is the invention of Omar Ibn Khattab.
If they are of the same religion such as let's say if they were Christians they would get together and pray and that would give them a much stronger bond.
Different groups seem to think differently on how their religion should work, even with the same god some might believe he behaves differently. This, of course, causes problems and one religion splits to worship in their "better way".
No. People in Africa are the same as people anywhere else.
There is nothing called Sunni religion. It is only one religion Islam religion, per quran revelation to prophet Muhammad PBUH, under which there are different schools or groups but all having same basic beliefs and worship same God and follow same prophet and pray facing same direction and follow same holy book.
Because "religion" and "cult" have the exact same definition other than a religion has more followers or is the primary belief system in the area in which the words are defined. No one wants their religion to be considered a cult, so they fudge it. Different people fudge it differently, so there are multiple definitions.
