the definition of Radical is thoroughgoing or extreme, esp. as regards change from accepted or traditional forms:a radical change in the policy of a company. At the time that Jesus was around the traditional beliefs of the general populace were not in accordance with what we take as acceptable today, which mainly stem from Christianity which is what Christ was spreading about. So in that day and age yes, Jesus Christ's views were very radical indeed. They were against the established social order, if implicated into the society there would be drastic changes, and the very order of day to day life would have been changed.

Why is Josephus important for proving that Jesus existed?

AnswerUnfortunately, Josephus does not prove that Jesus existed, but he does say (Antiquities Book XVIII) that he knew of Christians who believed he had once existed and who in his own day continued to worship Jesus. If the existence of Jesus as a historical person is ever to be established, this passage will at least assist in that direction.

Why did Jesus need patient in dealing with his disciple?

Jesus needed a patient because the disciples would try to do things to themselves to prove they were holier then thou and Jesus would have to put them in there place. Sometimes we need to ask Jesus for patients because we want to do some experiments to heal people and we want things to happen right then and there. Also people would try to rush Jesus because they wanted there family member to be healed. So that is why Jesus needs patients.

How can Simeon's encounter with Jesus at the temple be explained?

The passage in which Simeon blessed the baby Jesus and prophesied great things was an opportunity to prove to the readers of Luke's Gospel that Jesus was indeed the son of God. For some reason, Simeon, alone of all people, had been promised that he would not die before he saw the Lord's Anointed (Christ). Simeon recognised Jesus as the Christ as soon as he saw him, and blessed the young family. The author of Luke often used repetition to ensure certainty among his readers, so the story of Simeon was immediately followed by the story of Anna the prophetess.

What was radical about the ethics Jesus taught?

It is difficult to find a radical element in Jesus' teaching. Almost all of it was in line with the mainline teachings of the Pharisees. Certainly the Golden Rule "do unto others" follows directly from the normative "love thy neighbor as thyself," Leviticus 19:18. Rabbi Hillel, a leading Pharisee in the generation before Jesus, said that the essence of the Torah was "do not do unto others what you would not have done to you, that is the whole of the Torah. All the rest is commentary, now go study the commentary." The most radical element taught by Jesus might be "turn the other cheek," since outright pacifism is not commonly found in the Jewish tradition.

Prove jesus is the son of god historically?

It cannot be done.In order to prove that Jesus was the son of God "historically", one must first incontrovertibly prove that God exists. This falls outside of the scope of science (and therefore true history). We then must prove that God impregnated Mary (which would require that God himself testify, since there's no way of performing any sort of genetic test on Mary or Jesus). We then must prove that Jesus was indeed the son of Mary, which too would require genetic testing. So far, we can't even conclusively prove that Jesus existed (though it is possible) in a historical context since it has been shown that the only 3rd party verification of Jesus' existence (the records of Roman historian Josephus) were later proved to be doctored.AnswerRead the Bible. The whole great book testifies that Jesus is the son of God and is God. Science helps prove that God does exist.
