There are more than 200 ecclesiastical jurisdictions (dioceses) in the Church of God in Christ (COGIC). There are more than 170 domestic jurisdictions within the United States and at least 35 foreign jurisdictions. In addition to being located in every state in the Union, COGIC churches are found in more than 57 countries around the world. Each jurisdiction is under the direct administration of a bishop. Why did the COGIC split from AG church?

The proper question is why did the AG church split from COGIC? The founder of the Church Of God In Christ, Bishop Charles Harrison Mason ordained and commissioned three white men to begin ministering to other white members the message of holiness and the Holy Spirit.
