It is this writers opinion that all healing is given by one receiving a blessing at the hands of one holding authority to do so. The blessing may include the healing of the sick and afflicted.Specific afflictions may be mentioned in the blessing to which the recipient may be asked of the Lord to be cured of.

In many religious traditions, priests can offer spiritual comfort and support through prayer and guidance, which some people believe can aid in healing. However, physical healing typically requires medical treatment from healthcare professionals.
The religion of Christanity believes in healing. Jesus the son of Mary was given power to heal and even to wake the dead person. ANSWER#2 Many religious belief systems believe in healing the sick and raising the dead as Jesus is reported to have done in the Christian Scriptures when He raised his friend Lazarus from death after three days. Jesus is also credited with "absent healing" eg Jesus was approached by a Roman soldier asking that He heal his servant. Jesus said he would come immediatley. The soldier(Jairus) said and I paraphrase "Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof. Say but the word and my servant shall be healed". It is reported that the soldier's servant was healed without Jesus' physical presence. Christians also believe in healing by "laying of hands" ie. direct contact with the afflicted person. Other cultures such as the Japanese who pracitise "reiki", believe in healing by direct laying on of hands. Spiritualists also believe in "absent healing" often through their "spirit guides". Healing the sick and raising of the dead is believed by many mainstream religions as well as those of more ancient origins eg Native American Indians and the Aborigines of Australia to name but a few. Most religions allows human to know the unknown as mosy human fear the unknown. Most human agree that the physical body can be healed physically by doctors with scientific means while the spiritual soul can only be healed by spiritual healing with religious means. There are those who claim to be 'healers' or 'spiritual healers' or even 'faith healers' (although what 'faith' is questionable). The difference between these and, say, Christian healing is that in Christian healing, the person is healed in God's name (or in Jesus' name). In other words, the person conducting the healing has no 'powers' him- or herself, but, through a relationship with God, healing can take place through the power of God and not because of that person. With many other 'healers' they themselves claim to have the 'power' or 'gift' to do such healing, or the 'power' comes from the 'spirit world', 'earth energies' or some other bogus direction. Too often these 'healers' are charlatans who practise healing for monetary gain, recognition, or fame. In scripture, one classic example was Simon Magus who, having seen how the disciples healed in Jesus' name, for no financial gain, wanted the same 'powers' so that he too could heal - for his own personal gain. He was rightly treated with contempt by the disciples - a lesson that we should still remember today if a 'healer' offers to heal either for a fee, or for their own ego rather than asking, through prayer, God to heal. Incidentally, Christian healing does take place today. One thing that set me onto the road to becoming a Christian was actually seeing someone healed before my eyes when I was very young. It does happen - but only because of the power of God channelled through the Christian healer, and not because of anything that he or she does himself.
