Abraham (in his early years he was called Abram) was 75 years old the first time it is recorded he was promised a son - see in The Bible, Genesis chapter 12 verses 1-7 (especially v.4). This was repeated again and again - see the following verses: Genesis 13.14-16; 15.4-6,13-14,18; 17.1-16; 18.10-14; 21.1-5.
A:According to biblical tradition, Abraham was the first of the patriarchs, followed by his son Isaac and then Jacob. Genesis 17:1 says that Abram was 99 when God promised him a son. Renamed Abraham, he was exactly 100 years old and Sarah was 90 when Isaac was born. Isaac, in turn, was exactly 60 years old when Jacob and Esau were born. These seem improbable ages for them to have their sons, not only because of their extreme ages but because they are such nice, round numbers, implying that Abraham was not really a hundred years old when Isaac was born, nor just one year younger when the promise was made. This can be attributed to the need for the tradents who passed these stories down orally into the first millennium BCE to remember so much detail. They needed names that prompted them as to the related storyline (Abraham - "Father of many") and numbers that were easy to remember.
Genesis 17:17 says that Sarah was 90 years old when God said to Abraham that she would conceive and bear a son. Abraham was 100 years old when God made this promise, and still 100 years old when Isaac was born.
These seem improbable ages for them to have a son, and with good reason. The Book of Genesis is noteworthy for attributing to people ages - like 90 and 100 - that are easy to remember for oral story-telling, or which are based on the number 17. If we look at the lifespans of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Bible says that:
If we look at the lifespan of Sarah, we find that Genesis says she lived to 127 years, which is the sum of these consecutive square numbers plus 17 (127 = 52 +62 + 72 + 17).
Their ages when God promised them a child and their final lifespans are so well-contrived that we should accept that even if Sarah and Abraham were real, historical people, they would not have lived to these great ages, nor would they have had a child at exactly 90 and 100 years old, respectively.

Abraham was 100 years old when God promised him a son, and Sarah was 90 years old at the time.
Sarah was 90 years old when she received the promise. (Genesis 17:15-21 and 21:1-3)

Isaac is sometimes called "the child of the promise" because God promised Abraham that Sarah would have a son despite her old age, and Isaac was born miraculously fulfilling that promise. Isaac's birth symbolizes God's faithfulness in keeping His promises to His chosen people.
In Genesis chapter 17 Genesis 17:16 And I (God) will bless her (Sarah) and also give you (Abraham) a son by her; then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her."
God promised Abraham that he would bless him with many descendants, that he would give him the land of Canaan as an inheritance for his descendants, and that through his offspring all nations would be blessed.
In the story from the Bible and the Quran, God tested Abraham's faith by asking him to sacrifice his son, Isaac/Ishmael. Abraham demonstrated his faith and obedience by preparing to sacrifice his son, but at the last moment, God provided a ram as a substitute. This act is seen as a demonstration of Abraham's ultimate trust in God.
Abraham showed his faith by being willing to offer his son Isaac on an altar to God, as a test of his obedience and trust in God's promises. However, God provided a ram for the sacrifice instead, recognizing Abraham's faith and obedience.
Ishmael was not the promised son from God. Ishmael came about because Sarah gave Abraham Hagar to produce a son thinking that they would help God out with His promise of a son. A big mistake. Abraham was 86 years old when Ishmael was born.
When Sarah was almost 90 years old, God changed her name and promised her a son. A year later Isaac was born. Abraham was 100 years old at the time of the birth.
God promised Abraham that as he had kept faith in god and obeyed god , he would be a father of a great nation.

from the book of Genesis: Abraham was very obedient to God; he was even willing to sacrifice his son Isaac if God willed it. God promised Abraham that he would have many descendants and that the land of Canaan was promised to him. Abraham and God had a covenant with each other; it forms the basis of the Jewish, Muslim and Christian faiths.
The Palestinians are descendants of Ishmael, (the son of Hagar & Abram). Being that God had promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations, God had to keep his covenant by blessing Abraham's seed (Ishmael) though he was not the son promised to Sarah & Abraham. So God promised he would bless Ishmael making him a great nation. (Gen 17: 25 & Gen 25: 12-18). His descendants are considered to be the Arabic People.
Abraham and Sarah were waiting for the promised son.
God told Abraham that he would have a son at his old age.
He is not recorded as having explicitly promised anything. Rather, he observed, fulfilled and taught the ways of God.
As you may already know, Abraham and his wife Sarah, were both really old when they had Isaac. As a test, God told Abraham to sacrifice his son. If he had enough faith in God, he wouldn't have to worry about what happened to his son. Abraham took his son up to the altar and Isaac asked what they were offering. Abraham said, "The LORD will provide the offering." Abraham tied his son to the altar and prepared to kill him when an angel of the LORD appeared to him. He told Abraham to let his son go, he had showed his faith in God. Abraham had passed the test.
