Both were anointed as kings by Samuel, both started their reign well both fell astray. But David repented after Nathan pointed out to David that he had sinned greatly. Saul did not listen to god. David wanted to build the temple but god was against it as he had blood on his hands, so King Solomon built it.

∙ 13y agoThe difference between King Saul and King David is that even though both failed and sinned David repented after he omitted adultery, and even wrote a Psalm on it, But Saul refused to listen to both God and Samuel as well. In the end Saul I have run a bad race.

∙ 12y agoSaul was a Benjamite and the first divinely chosen king of Israel. (1Samuel 9:15+16; 10:1) He was a handsome man and much taller than most, and came from a wealthy family. (1Samuel 9:1+2; 2Samuel 1:23)
David was a descendant of Judah through Boaz. His father was a farmer and David was a shepherd most of his young life. He had 'beautiful eyes' and was an accomplished musician and orchestral organizer at the Temple.(Matthew 1:3-6, 1Chronicles 25:1, 1Samuel 16:1-13, Acts 13:22). He was also a valiant man of war, fighting in the wars of Israel.
Solomon was the son of David, in the line of Judah, and was a man of peace (1Chronicles 22:6-10) and so was allowed to build God's Temple.
