Jesus presented himself as a model for our own Journey of discipleship during the Passover, in the garden of Gethsemane, Good Friday (during his death), Easter (when he rose from the dead, and many more miracles. Passover, when Moses told everyone to put lamb's blood over the doorway so the angel of death wouldn't come and kill their first-born son. In the garden of Gethsemane, when Jesus prayed to God and his disciples kept falling asleep. Later that night Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss, and one of the disciples cut of the soldier's ear and Jesus performed a miracle by healing him. Good Friday is when Jesus died, during this event Jesus showed everyone that he is truly the son of God and that he is not an indestructible hero, that he is a true "Suffering Servant". Easter is the event that Jesus rose from the dead to join the Father in the kingdom of God.

In Mark's Gospel, the passion and death of Jesus are presented as a model for our own journey of discipleship by emphasizing the themes of suffering, sacrifice, and obedience to God's will. Jesus' unwavering commitment to his mission, even in the face of suffering and death, serves as a powerful example for his followers to endure challenges with faith and trust in God. By embracing the cross, Jesus demonstrates the ultimate act of love and obedience, encouraging his disciples to do the same in their own lives.

What stories bookend the Passion predictions What could the Gospel writer be suggesting by bookending these predictions?

The stories that bookend the Passion predictions in the Gospel of Mark are the healings of blind Bartimaeus and blind Bartimaeus performed by Jesus. By placing these miracles before and after the predictions of Jesus' suffering and death, the Gospel writer may be suggesting that true insight and understanding comes from recognizing Jesus as the suffering servant who brings healing and salvation to humanity.
