When Paul wrote to the Romans, he had not yet visited the Roman church.
Paul also wrote a letter to the Colossians, but it has not been established whether or not he ever visited the church at Colossae.
The Epistle to the Ephesians was not actually written to the Ephesians, but was an encyclical to the Church as a whole. In contrast to Paul's own use of the term church ( ekklesia, congregation), which he used only to refer to a local congregation, the author of Ephesians used the term in the singular to refer to the universal Church, and the opening address to the Ephesians is probably a late addition. Ephesians is supposedly addressed to a community of only Gentile Christians, but scholars doubts whether such a community yet existed in Pauline times. The Epistle to the Ephesians copied much material from the pseudo-Pauline letter to the Colossians, which was in turn written sometime during the 70s, and was intended to address a sectarian conflict that had arisen in Asia Minor.
I may not have spoken with God or been to heaven, but my beliefs are still strong and unwavering. I have faith in what I have been taught and what I feel in my heart, guiding me to trust in those convictions as if they were a map showing me the way.
In Christianity there are many different churches, because each church believes it is teaching Jesus' message most completely. However, in spite of each church's efforts, no church yet has completely, successfully taught Jesus' message without tainting it by their own faults, ego, and biases. I am not alone in believing that for a person -- or a church -- to completely live Jesus' message they MUST embrace the Beatitudes (Matthew 5;3-12) without reservation. To do so would be to transform the world, as Jesus intended.
A catechumen is a person who is undergoing instruction in the principles of Christianity for initiation into the Church. The term is often used to refer to individuals preparing for baptism in the Christian faith.
In the very early years of the Church when Peter lived there were no religious orders developed yet.
