No one should divorce until the very last minute. When you marry you make the promise "'Til death do us part". This is also breaking that promise. ANSWER #2 The answer given above essentially is correct. Divorce is a matter of conscience against the background of whichever religion you follow eg. the Roman Catholic Church does not recognize divorce but will allow annulments which involves proving that a marriage was no marriage to begin with. The Christian Scriptures tell us (and I paraphrase) that Jesus and his disciples were discussing this very subject. The disciples asked if they could remain married and still do God's work. Jesus is reported to have said (again, I paraphrase) that for those who could adequately spread the Gospel message whilst married, remain married. For those who found it difficult to divide their time between marriage and family life and preach the Gospel as well, it is better not to marry. It is important to remember that Peter and some others of the disciples were already married. Jesus did not ask them to separate from their wives.

What is the evangelicals attitude to divorce?

When is divorce acceptable in the christian faith?

For adultery, fornication, and if your partner has walked out on you because you are a Christian:-Mat 5:32 But now I tell you: if a man divorces his wife for any cause other than her unfaithfulness, then he is guilty of making her commit adultery if she marries again; and the man who marries her commits adultery also. (Good News)Mat 5:32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. (King James)1Co 7:12 But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.1Co 7:13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.1Co 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.1Co 7:15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace. (King James)1Co 7:10 To the married I give this command - not I, but the Lord - a wife should not divorce a husband1Co 7:11 (but if she does, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband), and a husband should not divorce his wife.1Co 7:12 To the rest I say - I, not the Lord - if a brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is happy to live with him, he should not divorce her.1Co 7:13 And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is happy to live with her, she should not divorce him.1Co 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified because of the wife, and the unbelieving wife because of her husband. Otherwise your children are unclean, but now they are holy.1Co 7:15 But if the unbeliever wants a divorce, let it take place. In these circumstances the brother or sister is not bound. God has called you in peace.1Co 7:16 For how do you know, wife, whether you will bring your husband to salvation? Or how do you know, husband, whether you will bring your wife to salvation? What is the relationship between a pastor and the congregation?

The Bible give us the books of Acts, I, II Timothy, and Titus primarily to give specifics on Pastors and their relationship to the church. Of course other books of the Bible help as well. Pastor means "shepherd" - a Pastor should shepherd his people by feeding "tending" them God's Word, reprove, rebuke, exhort them, protect them by warning them of spiritual danger, etc. These are all phrases from Scripture. A Pastor is also a "Bishop" - He is to "oversee" the church. As God gave Christ to be the One head of the church, so the pastor is the earthly leader of the local church. He is to oversee all that is involved both spiritually, financially, vision, direction, etc. - but, he is not to "Lord" over his flock or to exalt himself, but rather be a servant like Jesus was to His disciples. A Pastor is also an "elder" - that means He is in a place of respect like the aged would be in the church. He is a the place of authority like the elders of the Old Testament. In Ephesians, God makes it clear that Jesus gave pastors and other spiritual leaders as gifts when he ascended into heaven. These spiritual leaders are given to manage His spiritual work on earth until He returns to receive His own and then come as the great King. Christ is the Great Shepherd, the Pastor is the under-shepherd. A pastor should never abuse his authority by "lording", but neither should the Congregation disrespect his authority by failing to subject themselves. All these things are straight out of the New Testament and found primarily in the books I have stated above.

A person interested in getting a degree in religious studies should investigate several schools until they find the one that they feel is the most right for them.

Can a woman be pastor?

In some denominations, yes. Roman Catholics, Orthodox churches and some others forbid women to have leadership roles such as pastor, or priest. However, the Methodist church, United Reformed Church and the Anglican Church along with many others allow women to become ministers or priests. There is absolutely no reason why women should not become priests or pastors. Opponents cite Biblical verses out of context to somehow defend their position, but too often these passages are used more as 'proof' of their own bigotted and mysoginistic views, and, deeper analysis shows them to be supportive rather than rejecting.Historically, the early Church has always had female leaders until male domination took over a few centuries after Christ. We know, as an example, of Lydia in the Book of Acts, who was a strong businesswoman selling 'purple cloth' (an ultra-luxurious item in those days) who was also a leader of a Church. Also, in the Fractio Panis - a fresco found in the Roman catacombs, we see a group of very early Christians celebrating Holy Communion - with the person presiding - the priest - clearly (from the clothes, hairsyle and obvious well-endowed bosom) a woman. On scripture, let's not forget Paul's words:"There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." (Galatians 3:28)- and that includes becoming a pastor and the priesthoodIn some Lutheran Churches No. What I think is Yes. My view of is that if woman can be Doctors or president... then why can't they be pastors ? In the bible God said to spread the Good news of GOD- Jesus Christ, My Lord, heavenly Father. Yes you can be a pastor. You can tthink about it and choose your opinion, but my opinion and view on it is that Yes woman can be pastors. Look somewhere in Peter chapter one. :) This may help.
