I was one of the preachers in the so-called two by two religion. I would be interested in hearing more about it from others who have left or perhaps or still part of it.

They don't really go by any name of any sort although they often call their religion "the way" or "the truth". Also, they do not ridicule other religions in any way even though some websites may say that. They are a humble group of followers of Jesus' teachings and his doctrine. They dont require money or ask for donations from anybody and accept everyone. The ministers are often refered to as "workers" and they go two by two preaching the gospel just like Jesus' deciples did. That is how they probably got their name. Followers refer to themsleves and other followers as "the friends" and all the friends have a connection through the truth and workers that serve God and preach all over the world. They prefer to be a quite religion and not draw attention to themselves.

Explain the two-fold understanding of freedom of religion as expressed in the First Amendment?

First, the government is forbidden to establish a religion, either directly, or indirectly. People are referring to this fact when they use the phrase "separation of church & state." Second, the government is forbidden to interfere with or to regulate religion.

What is the benefit of having freedom of religion and what would happen if we didn't have it?

A benefit of having freedom of religion is that people can choose what religion to follow without fear of being persecuted. Also, people have to learn to accept that religion because there is nothing they can do about it. If we didn't have freedom of religion you wouldn't be asking this question because you'd know the answer! Life would be boring, except of course from the seeking out of people who refuse to follow the chosen religion. There are many examples of what happens without freedom of religion in History, and still today. Mary Queen of Scots and Lady Jane Grey (the Nine Days Queen) are just two examples out of many.

How religion can be both a unifying and a dividing force?

Religion can be unifying by providing a common set of beliefs and values that bring people together. However, differences in religious beliefs can also lead to division and conflicts, especially when there is intolerance or a lack of respect for other faiths. It ultimately depends on how individuals and communities interpret and practice their religious beliefs.
