first of all he commited a horrible sin- and was party to the execution of Christ- a co-conspirator as it were. second he took his own life in nothing that would be called a sacrificial mode- suicide is its own punishment, so they say. sorry, no energy crisis where Judas wound up!
Another Point of View:
Who are we to say the depth of God's mercy? God sent His only begotton Son, not to condemm the world, but to save the world, so that whosoever believe might be saved. This is a gift with no strings. Judas probably believed. That's probably why he took his life. He met the criteria for salvation - belief. Besides, someone had to betray Jesus in order for scripture to be fulfilled - wouldn't it make sense that Judas was simply doing his agreed role, painful as it might have been to him?

Some verses in the Bible to help you find the answer to your question. We are predestined by God to go to either heaven or hell. Acts 13:48, Rom.8:29-30, 9:11-22; Eph.1:4-5, 2 Tim.1:9, Jude 1:4 Predestined, or predestination, means that God has decided if we are going to heaven or hell before we are born. It should be noted that the original biblical texts never mention the word hell. Hell is from ancient Egyptian mythology (look it up). When the Roman empire christianized paganism, or paganized christianity, many myths were incorporated and have been passed down through the centuries.
The three worst sinners in hell are Brutus, Cassius, and Judas. According to the Divine Comedy.
