Some believe he was. Abraham was given his wife's maid servernt to sleep with. And her name was hagar. Hagar gave birth to ismael, whos decendants are known as "Arabs" and include Muslims. The other son was isaac, from whom we get the Jews.
It is very possible that he did infact come from Abraham
