Quadrants are four sections created when a coordinate plane is divided by its x-axis and y-axis. Each quadrant has different signs for its x and y coordinates, distinguishing it from the others. Quadrants are commonly labeled using Roman numerals I, II, III, and IV, starting in the top right and moving counter-clockwise.
