The characters of the nativity are:
The important events of the nativity story include the angel Gabriel appearing to Mary to announce that she will give birth to Jesus, Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem for the census, Jesus being born in a stable, angels appearing to shepherds to announce the birth, and wise men following a star to find and worship the newborn baby Jesus.
the most important truth of the nativity, was that [John 3:16] "God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son. that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." God gave his son, Jesus, to the world to SAVE it!!! =D YAY! the young Mary, who happened to be a virgin, was betrothed to Joseph, a carpenter. one day, an angel of the lord appeared to Mary and told her that she was going to be with child, and she shall call him Jesus. an angel of the lord also appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him of the news. so the holy spirit came upon Mary and caused her to become pregnant, and about the time she was to give birth, a decree came out from Caesar Augustus, that every man should go back to the place of his birth, along with his wife and children, and be counted and taxed. so Joseph took his pregnant wife Mary to Bethlehem, the city of David. it was so packed there, cuz of everybody coming in, so there were no vacancies in any of the inns. an innkeeper finally provided Mary and Joseph with a small stable at the back of the inn to stay the night in. there, the King was born, and even the animals in the stable rejoiced at the time!!! =D there is more to the story....like the shepherds in the field, and the three wise men, but i hope you will take the time to read the rest of this amazing story in The Bible!! =D it can be found starting in Matthew 1:18. there are also other places that talk of that glorious night...Merry Christmas! and happy birthday Jesus! =D
Frankincense is one of the gifts brought by the wise men to baby Jesus in the nativity story. It symbolizes worship, prayer, and the divine nature of Jesus as a gift fit for a king or deity.
Actually, the visit of the Magi to the baby Jesus is not recorded in Luke's gospel but in the Gospel of Matthew. The story can be found in Matthew 2:1-12. Luke's gospel includes the nativity story, but it focuses more on the shepherds who visited Jesus after his birth.
Joseph and Mary are known as the earthly parents of Jesus in Christian tradition. Joseph is described as a carpenter or craftsman, while Mary is revered as the mother of Jesus who conceived him through the Holy Spirit. Both figures play central roles in the nativity story and are considered important figures in Christianity.
The angel above the nativity is commonly referred to as the Angel of the Lord or the Christmas Angel.
