What did the devil do wrong?

Satan the Devil is the foremost slanderer of Jehovah God. Satan is described as the original serpent, evidently because of his using a serpent in Eden to deceive Eve, and for this reason “serpent” came to signify “deceiver.” The one who became Satan was originally a perfect spirit son of God. When saying that the Devil “did not stand fast in the truth,” Jesus indicated that at one time that one was “in the truth.” (John 8:44) He abused his freedom of choice, allowed feelings of self-importance to develop in his heart, began to crave worship that belonged only to God, and so enticed Adam and Eve to listen to him rather than obey God. Thus by his course of action he made himself Satan, which means “adversary.”

He is the one who has caused all the calamities on this earth. One example out of many is Job. We read in the book of Job chapter 1 that Satan caused a windstorm to kill all of Job's 10 children. After that, it was one catastrophy after another including painful boils on Job's skin.

1 John 5:19, "We know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one."

Psalm 37:10,11 mentions that soon the wicked will be no longer. "Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, And they will not be there.  But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace."

The Devil brought the humankind to where it is today.

Genesis 3: 4 shows that the he promised Eve and by extension her husband Adam, that they will be like God.

2 Timothy 3: 1-5 describe how mankind is today, in these words. " People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God and so forth.

The Bible describes the Devil as a liar who did not stand fast in the truth in John 8. 44 .

According to Romans 5: 12 and 1 Corinthians 15: 21 our mortal condition came due to one man Adam. Genesis 2: 17 shows that Adam had the choice to live forever in a beautiful environment, and fill the earth with perfect children.

2'000 years ago Jehovah God sent his most precious Son to redeem the human race from the curse of sin and death and to undo the damage caused by Satan. 1 Corinthians 15: 21 reminds us that our resurrecion will come through one man, Jesus Christ, for all those who accept Jehovah as their Sovereign.

So to answer your question: The wrong that Satan has done to mankind is all the suffering and death that we have to endure due to people's Satan-like personality described in 2 Timothy 3: 1-5. such as a great lack of natural affection and lovers of money that make people become cruel.

1 John reads that the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one. There is not one day without bad news coming from world wide. That is what the Devil has done to our beautiful planet.

Psalm 37: 29 has this to say. " The righteous will possess the earth and they will live forever on it.

The devil was angel once. Before he was cast out of heaven for wanting to be higher than God. Now he is very upset with God and wants to turn people against God. So he can use us for evil. So the devil is a controller but he only controls the people who let him control them. You have to learn how to saqy no to the devil.

Luke tells us "And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven".

That Satan was at one time in heaven with God before this world was can be accepted as a fact. He held a high calling and one of his names was Son of the morning. He stood next to Christ. That something happened in heaven for Satan to be cast out seems to be an obvious thought. Is it not at all possible that he wished to take upon himself more glory than he was entitled to. Perhaps even to replace God or to have as much authority as God.

It is evident from what Luke says that Satan was cast out of heaven, he and all of those who followed him. The scriptures do mention Satan and his angels.

Satan has a great desire that all mankind follow him and not God which seems to agree with the above suggestion.

The devil also known as Lucifer fell into sin when he gave into pride. Lucifer was Gods top angel. Lucifer was said to be made perfect in every way by God. Lucifer had a prideful heart. He wanted to take the spot God had. The power and beauty Lucifer had went to his head. He rebelled against God and was cast out of Heaven.
