Well, honey, that dove brought back an olive branch to let Noah know that the flood waters were finally receding. It was like Mother Nature's way of saying, "Hang in there, Noah, better days are coming." So, next time you see an olive branch, just remember it's a symbol of hope and survival, courtesy of that little bird.
The signifance of the olive leaves in the bible is when Noah sent the dove from the arc in the time of the flood , it came back with a bunch of olive leaves , so Noah new there was plants once again. It means peace .
An oxymoron. Oxymorons are figures of speech that combine contradictory terms for effect, such as "jumbo shrimp" or "deafening silence." In this case, "dove feathered raven" juxtaposes the gentle imagery of a dove with the dark connotations of a raven.
A dove. The dove found land after the flood. And the name Noah means peace.In the book of Genesis it is told that Abrahams's name was changed from Abram to Abraham, called the father of many nations.
7And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth. 8Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;
Moses brought none at all. When Noah saw that, he said "This will never do!", and brought in two elephants.
A dove
It was a olive branch that the dove brought , the second time Noah released it.
It was a dove, that did not return to Noah.
Noah first sent out a raven, and it just flew back and forth. Noah then sent out a dove, which returned to the ark, and he waited seven days. Noah then sent out the dove again, and it returned with an olive branch. He waited seven more days, and sent out the dove again, and this time, it did not return.
Noah knew when to come out of the ark because he sent a dove out of the ark and if the dove returned Noah knew that it had no place to land so it had to come back to the ark. Finally the dove did not return so he knew the earth's waters had receded.
I thought it did, it returned with the leaf to show there was land?
dove
the dove goes back to Noah's arc (in the begging of the old testament). so no... its much larger then that.
In the Bible, after the great flood when Noah built the ark, Noah sent a dove to see if it could bring back a branch- this would tell that the water level had lowered and they could find land. The olive branch represent peace.
The first time that Noah sent it out, the dove simply returned to him in the ark. The second time, the dove came back with an olive leaf. The third time, it did not return, giving evidence that it was possible and safe for Noah to leave the ark. (Genesis 8:8-12)
In the story of Noah's Ark, Noah sent out a dove 3 times, after unsuccessfully trying to send out a raven, which stayed near the Ark.The first time the dove returned with nothing, so Noah knew that there had been nowhere for it to land.Seven days later, he sent the dove out again, and it returned with an olive branch, so he knew that the water had receded from Ararat.He waited another seven days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return; so you could say that the Answer is it brought nothing (other than implicit information; namely that it would soon be feasible for Noah to begin resettling the Earth).But the last time it returned to Noah, it brought an olive branch, so that could also be the answer.It depends on how the question is worded.
A dove.
