What difficulties did Abraham face when following god's call?

Abraham was God's chosen one because God knew his heart. He was tested and failed as human's are capable of doing..and did choose the advice of his wife Sarah being impatient for God's promise to be fullfilled..Ishmael was first born with Sarah's hand maiden of a foreign land. Intereting to note that the first child, born out of rebellion to God's promise became the root of the MUSLIM empire still warring to this day against God's chosen children the Israelites and the Children of Adoption...the Christians. Upon the promised child's birth by Sarah..given the name of Isaac..God again tested Abraham by asking that Abraham give back his only begotten son by Sarah..at the Alter of Sacrifice..Upon seeing Abraham's faith God changed His mind and stayed Abraham's hand as he was about to kill Isaac for the offering to God...God then provided the sacrifice...symbolic of the Christ given to save all of the World...a Ram caught in a bush..which Abraham did kill and sacrifice as a burnt offering acceptable to God...It's of interest that God furnished the sacrifice here...where men had always been called upon to furnish the sacrifice to God...So Abraham did reveal his true heart through this ulitmate test of faith and was then promised to be the "Father of many nations"..."numbering the sands of the sea shores"...God is always faithful but we must sometimes be called upon to reveal our heart to Him

Abraham faced several difficulties when following God's call, including leaving his familiar surroundings and family to journey to an unknown land (Genesis 12:1), not having any children despite God's promise of descendants (Genesis 15:2-3), and being asked to sacrifice his son Isaac (Genesis 22:1-2).
