It is a monotheist (One God) statement rather than a pluralistic atheistic (multiple gods i.e. pantheism) statement. This God is the God of Abraham and his decedents, but not merely of blood lineage. Abraham was named the father of the Almighty God by faith, not by works, for he was said to be righteous (righ doing) before the law was given. So it is his faith (by following the voice of His God) not his legal attitude. Many for instance interpret the law of Moses as something we all must follow - but succumb to legalistic attitude rather than understanding it as being in love with Almighty God and loving all people equally. i.e. the Sabbath was given to help people break free from 7-day slavery which is reflected in the Genesis account (Moses wrote Genesis in this view). Jesus came to reveal this same faith. Paul further elaborated within the book of Romans, revealing this faith is also not to be by law. It is from faith to faith. Hebrews twelve also indicates this.
In the phrase "under the shadow of the Almighty," the term "shadow" typically symbolizes protection, refuge, and the encompassing presence of God. It conveys the idea of being sheltered or shielded by the divine power and grace of God. It suggests a sense of safety and security under the care of a higher power.
"I confess to the almighty God" is an expression where the individual acknowledges their sins and seeks forgiveness from God. It is a common phrase used in the penitential act of the Catholic Mass, where the faithful express contrition for their sins before receiving sacramental absolution.
God called Abraham righteous because of his faith and obedience. Abraham trusted in God's promises, demonstrated by his willingness to leave his homeland and obey God's commands, such as when he was prepared to sacrifice his son Isaac. This faith and obedience showed Abraham's righteousness before God.
"Shahadah" is a declaration of faith in Islam, proclaiming the belief in the oneness of God (Allah) and the prophethood of Muhammad. It is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and is recited by Muslims to affirm their faith and commitment to Islam.
It just means that God asked Cain and Abel to give him sacrifices as an act of worship. Both Cain and Abel knew what kind of sacrifice God wanted - but only Abel gave the right kind. Cain (on principle because he was proud and rebellious) refused to offer God an acceptable sacrifice. Abel -was prompted by his faith in God (that is he truly understood who God was) and as such was careful to give God a sacrifice that was acceptable. Cain (full of rebellion and pride) gave what he wanted to give God not what God wanted. One sacrifice was pleasing to God the other was not - and the pleasing sacrifice of Abel - given from a right heart with a right understanding of who God is - caused God to see him a righteous. The example that Abel set by responding by faith and the righteousness that he gained through that act of faith - still speaks powerfully (witnesses) to us today about what it is that God requires from every person. It is an example of how we can be made righteous with Him on the basis of faith in Him - but that this faith always produces actions that are pleasing to God. It is those right actions which are proof that we have true faith - The apostle Paul wrote "faith without works is dead". (But also works without faith are dead. Kinda like advertisign without a company, or vice versa. How are you going to achieve.)
Monotheism; Christianity is the prominent example of a faith that believes is an almighty Creator God.
No. Zeus is out of Greek religion/myth. "God Almighty" is in Christian faith.
Almighty - as in 'God Almighty'. Literally 'maker of all'
My opinion on faith in almighty is that i do believe in him and if other people don't, i really do not care. Also everyone has their own god, no one should judge anyone about their religion.
God is the Father to His children, He is the Creator of the Earth, and He is Almighty.
God is the almighty. no one can beat god God is the almighty. no one can beat god
Voodoo is a faith, or a belief. It does not mean 'God'. God in the Vodou faith is known as Bondye.
You are assuming God created a son because he "needed" to, God is ALMIGHTY and needs nothing and no-one, however he wanted to create, to give life, simply because he is a God of love and wanted to give life. No, God didn't marry. The term "Son of God" has a different meaning here. See the Related Link "Christian Answers: Son of God" for more information. If God almighty is absolute, then we as His creations are also gods. so what's the fuss?
We call god almighty because he is the father almighty/ the one and only god
It means that 1) God is almighty 2) He aids you, i.e., assists you or helps you, and 3) You recognize, or acknowledge, this aid.
The "Lord" is a title substituted for God's name, Jehovah, in many Bibles. The fact that he is "almighty God" identifies him as the one true God, the Creator of all things in heaven and on earth who is all powerful. This separates him from all other Deities, man-made or otherwise.
The almighty Lord, God the Creater that art in heaven.
