I believe that you are actually referring to Occultists and not accultist. The word Occult was used in a derogatory manner to stereotype people who did not conform to the religiopolitical dictates of the socialites and imperialists. It was the name used to describe those individuals who were involved in supernatural rituals and so-called magical escapades (witch-craft and sorcery). These people were labeled as demon/devil worshipers or as Occultists. Some of the early scientists were also accused of being Occultists. There is absolutely no evidence to prove that there was ever such a religion or social system as accultist.
