To be one with God means to be in close proximity with Him. That is not to say you will be physically beside God; God is not physical, and neither are the souls of those who have ascended. This could be referring to heaven, not as clouds and all the things you see in movies, but as heaven as it truly is - a closer state to God.
Another interpretation of this is that God created us in His own image; our souls that is. Therefore, it is as if we are the same as God in the respect that our souls are completely spiritual in nature. This is opposite to our bodies, which are physical in nature.
It would be useful if you could say where exactly in the new testament it says that.
The phrase "Heaven means to be one with God" is not a direct quote from the New Testament. However, the concept of being in Heaven is often associated with being in the presence of God and experiencing full unity and communion with Him.
The New Testament writers believed that God's word was inspired and authoritative. They saw their own writings as a means to convey God's message and teachings to others. They sought to faithfully communicate the message of Jesus Christ and the principles of the Christian faith through their writings.
The Old Testament laid the foundation for the coming of Jesus Christ in the New Testament. The New Testament fulfills the prophecies and promises made in the Old Testament, showing how they are interconnected and part of the overarching narrative of God's plan for humanity. Jesus himself often referenced the Old Testament scriptures to demonstrate how they foretold his arrival and mission.
The Bible is divided into the Old Testament and the New Testament. The term "testament" is used in the sense of a covenant or agreement between God and humanity. The Old Testament represents the covenant between God and the people of Israel, while the New Testament represents the new covenant established through Jesus Christ.
The name Zebedee is of Hebrew origin and means "gift of God" or "God’s gift." It is a biblical name found in the New Testament, as the name of the father of the apostles James and John.
Jesus is considered the central figure of the New Testament because his teachings, actions, and sacrifices are the focal point of the Christian faith. He is portrayed as the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies and promises, bringing a new covenant between God and humanity through his life, death, and resurrection. The New Testament accounts of Jesus' life and teachings serve as the foundation of Christian beliefs and practices.
In the Beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (From the holy Bible)
In the New Testament(NKJV), the word Heaven is mentioned 287 times.
Matthew reference heaven more than any other New Testament Book.

The difference of the sons of god , in the two testaments are that in the old testament Jesus is the son of god. But in the New Testament we to can be the sons of god . If only we do believe that Jesus died for our sins.
First let's look at the Old Testament. The Old Testament contains the "Old Covenant", the Law of Moses mainly, but also includes the creation of heaven and earth, the history of the Hebrew people, and prophecies. The New Testament begins a new era with the predicted Messiah coming to earth, dying on the cross and resurrecting the third day to reconcile men and women young and old back to God. This is the "New Covenant" that God has made with people since the death of His Son, Jesus Christ, the predicted Messiah. It contains new information about God and how He wants people to love and trust in Him. The Old testament contained many laws derived from the Ten Commandments that a person was to try and live up to. It was an impossibility, but it did point the way to God, but would not save them. The New Testament has done away with the "works of the Law" and has replaced that with Faith in God for salvation. The medium we go to between God and ourselves is through Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only way to the Father (God in heaven). The New Testament is God's new way to Him. Actually salvation by faith is not new as Abraham believed God and it was accounted righteousness to him, but it was a very difficul road to God. Now that Faith/salvation has been explained in the New Testament we can see it much clearer
This is not an entirely accurate statement of the Gnostic Christian belief about the nature of God. They could not believe that the harsh and unjust God of the Old Testament was the same as the loving and forgiving God of the New Testament, so they believed there must be two gods. The God of the Old Testament became the Demiurge, while the supreme God is the God of the New Testament. Thus, God of the New Testament is good and the Demiurge, the God of the Old Testament, is the bad God.
The word Testament means covenant. The Old Testament describes the old covenant God made. The New Testament describes the new covenant Gad made with humans through Christ Jesus. The Old Testament looks forward to Christ where as the New Testament looks back at the promises of Christ.
The City of God is Heaven. Heaven is also referred to as the new Jerusalem.
Both the Old and New Testament say the same thing in that regards, You Can't No one according to the Bible itself has ever seen God. But it is also written in the New Testament, "That in Heaven, no one is closer to God Then Children" And how can anyone Resist that Glow. How can you see the face of God in your own daily life?
According to the New Testament it is all those who repent of their sin (wrongdoing against God and others) and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.
The City of God is Heaven. Heaven is also referred to as the new Jerusalem.
