To be non-religious means to take responsibility for your own ethics and conduct. It means knowing that if you wrong another person, you will have to ask that person for forgiveness, because you can not take the easy way out and ask God for the forgiveness you desire. And it means you can not say "the devil made me do it."
Other than that, most atheists simply do not think about what it means to be non-religious. They get on with their lives just as Christians do.
