To be non-religious means to take responsibility for your own ethics and conduct. It means knowing that if you wrong another person, you will have to ask that person for forgiveness, because you can not take the easy way out and ask God for the forgiveness you desire. And it means you can not say "the devil made me do it."

Other than that, most atheists simply do not think about what it means to be non-religious. They get on with their lives just as Christians do.

Being non-religious means not adhering to any particular religion or belief system. Non-religious individuals may identify as atheist, agnostic, or simply have no affiliation with organized religion. They often base their views and decisions on reason, evidence, and personal values rather than faith or dogma.
