Thirst in a physical sense, tells us when our body needs water. It's a good reminder and it can save our lives. Thirst is often mentioned in The Bible in a SPIRITUAL sense.

At Matthew 5:6 Jesus says that if you 'hunger and thirst for righteousness' you will be filled. At times when you're REALLY physically thirsty, all you can think about is getting a big glass of water, and you won't be satisfied until you've had your fill, because your body NEEDS water to live. In the same way, for those who LONG for truth and righteousness, they won't give up until they find the truth of God that gives them rest. They will search for God until they find him, and he will LET himself be found by those who are TRULY thirsting for God's righteousness. (Acts 17:26 & 27) (1 Chronicles 28:9)(2 Chronicles 15:15)

(John 6:35) Jesus said: "I am the bread of life. He that comes to me will not get hungry at all, and he that exercises faith in me will never get thirsty at all. Again, this is speaking spiritually. Once a person has found 'the truth', they no longer feel that desperation; they no longer THIRST spiritually. They are satisfied and content. As Jesus promised....because they thirsted and never gave up, they are 'filled". (John 4:14)(John 7:37)(Revelation 22:17)

When Jesus says "you thirst," he may be referring to spiritual thirst or a desire for a deeper connection with God. It can also symbolize a longing for fulfillment and meaning in life that can only be satisfied through a relationship with Him.

He means that you thirst in your spirit for righteousness, or if you are referring to the story of where he spoke to the woman near the well, he meant it both physically and spiritually. "you will thirst again" physical and when he speaks of drinking from Him, he means it in a spiritual way.

Which gospels mention that Jesus spoke to the criminals on the cross?

A:It is in Luke's Gospel that Jesus spoke to one of the criminals. Luke says that one of the malefactors mocked Jesus, while the other repented, saying to Jesus, "Lord remember me in paradise," to which Jesus said unto him, "Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise."Matthew's Gospel says both thieves mocked Jesus - (Matthew 27:44): "They cast the same in his teeth." There is no suggestion that Jesus spoke to either of them, and no likelihood that Jesus would have promised he would be in paradise. Luke's is the theologically most important account and thus the account most Christians prefer.Mark's Gospel, the first account to be written, simply says (Mark 15:27-28) that Jesus was crucified between two thieves, one on his left hand and one on his right hand, so that the scripture be fulfilled as Jesus was numbered among the transgressors. John's Gospel does not tell us that anything was said between Jesus and the criminals.

Was Mary Magdalene at Jesus crucifixion?

The Gospels of Matthew and Mark say that Mary Magdalene was among the women who watched form afar off; none of the acquaintances of Jesus was actually at the crucifixion. Luke's Gospel is similar, although it only says that the women watched from afar off. John's Gospel says that Mary the mother of Jesus was actually at the crucifixion, but does not mention Mary Magdalene or any other women.
