John's gospel repeatedly refers to Jesus' miracles as "signs."
According to Strong's Greek lexicon, the word translated "signs" in John 20:30 (semeion) means (1) that by which a person or a thing is distinguished from others and is known, (2) an unusual occurrence, transcending the common course of nature, (3) of miracles and wonders by which God authenticates the men sent by him, or by which men prove that the cause they are pleading is God's. Jesus' miracles were signs in the fullest sense.
Yes there was a pupet king when Jesus was born his name was Herod.
The Gospels that describe the life and miracles of Jesus were recorded in the New Testament of the Bible. There are four canonical Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Each Gospel provides a unique perspective on the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Jesus turned water into wine at the wedding before He was baptized.Answer:The New Testament does not record any miracles performed by Jesus before He was baptized. In John 1:33, 34, John the Baptist makes reference to the Spirit descending upon Jesus (which occurred when He was baptized), after which the account of Jesus' first miracle (turning water to wine at the wedding in Cana) is given in John 2.
People reacted to Jesus' miracles with a range of responses. Some believed in his divine nature and followed him as a result of witnessing the miracles. Others were skeptical and questioned his abilities, attributing his miracles to trickery or deception. Overall, the miracles played a significant role in shaping people's perception of Jesus and his teachings.
The Bible does not clearly record that John the Baptist personally witnessed any of Jesus Christ’s miracles. 📖 What the Gospels show: John the Baptist recognized Jesus early and famously baptized Him in the Jordan River. He testified that Jesus was special (e.g., calling Him “the Lamb of God”). ⚠️ Important detail: Soon after beginning his ministry, John was imprisoned by Herod Antipas. While in prison, John heard about Jesus’ works (miracles) but did not see them himself. 📜 Example: In the Gospel of Matthew, John sends messengers to ask Jesus if He is the Messiah after hearing reports of His deeds. ✅ Conclusion: No direct evidence that John witnessed miracles personally He likely heard about them secondhand while in prison
Miracles are most important in the Gospel of John. The miracles Jesus performs are predetermined and are intended to prove to people that he is "the light of the world".
