If by all three major religions, you mean Judaism, Christianity and Islam, the site considered holy by all three is the city of Jerusalem. For Judaism, the city has long been considered holy as it the place where King David and King Solomon intended to build the great temple to Yaweh on Temple Mount. The temple was destroyed during the Islamic conquests. All that now remains is the Western Wall. The city is also considered holy by Christianity as it features in many important events in the life of Jesus. It is the place where Jesus was presented at the temple, the place where He drove the traders from the temple, the place where He celebrated the Last Supper with His disciples and most importantly the place where He was crucified, died and was buried to rise again on the third day.For Islam it is a holy city because it figures largely in the Islamic belief in the tradition of the prophets in the lineage of Abraham ie. King David, King Solomon and Jesus.
it wasnt the features of christianity - it was the inquisition. "Convert or you die" was pretty much what was happening throught the ancient and dark ages.

Contemporary tribal religions, some aspects of modern shamanism and paganism still incorporate these elements into their philosophies and practices.

Christianity and Islam. __________________________________________________________ Any religion may be influenced by another religion if it is a man developed religion and not same God religion. The three religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam are God religions created by same God. Hence it is logic to find common features in the three religions; mainly monotheism. Accordingly, it is hard to believe that any religion got influenced by another religion. Otherwise, how the three religion are same God religions and not man made religions.
Most religions that acquired an organized form, use temples and shrines for practicing, however, most of them allow and encourage also the practice in private. Some religions with animist principles, use landscape features (i.e. rock formations, groves, etc) instead of temples.
