St Matthew showed the gift of Courage by being able to stand out in front of an angry crowd that he had stolen money from and give all the money back that he stole when he was a tax-collector for the roman Government.
Wonder & Awe:
Matthew used the gift of Wonder and Awe by changing his ways and converting to Christianity so he could follow, believe and worship Jesus and God.

With the gift of Knowledge Matthew was able to accept the task of writing one of the four Gospels about the many of Teachings and Miracles that Jesus performed

My thoughts are that fruit or gifts of the Holy Spirit are not things that a believer receives once and then it's all over. The fruit of the Spirit are qualities that are developed over time as the christian matures. The gifts of the spirit are given when needed
