It depends on the "cult", some Christian protestant denominations including Jehova's Witnesses, are classified as "cults" in the US. There are "cult" versions of every kind of "normal" religion, plus plenty of offshoots and totally unknown or unique ones, such as the Urantia UFO cult or even the "cult" of Scientology.

From there, it is culture dependent, and specifically related to the religion in question, but most use religious titles, such as Minister, Reverend, Mother, Borhter, Sister or Father, High Priest, sometimes Prefect or Patriarch. The more eastern flavored cults may use a title such as Guru, Master, Llama, etc.

A cult leader may be referred to by various titles, such as "guru," "prophet," "messiah," or "spiritual leader." These titles are used to convey authority and power over followers within the group.
