One could at best estimate the birth and the death of Maharshi Valmiki to be between 700BC and 100AD.

There are several varables to consider one of which Mahrashi Valmiki was not always Mahrashi Valmiki. So the story goes that there once was a highway robber who would rob his victims after murdering them. One day he meet his match however when he attempted to rob the Divine sage Narada who wise words caused the robber to beg Naradas forgiveness. The robber was so riddled with guilt he meditated for many years, so long in fact that ants hills sprung up around where he was seated to add to his torment, until one day a divine voice declared he had successfully paid his penance and his name shall now be 'Valmiki; meaning "one born out of anthills"

So was was "Maharshi Valmiki born that day, or was it many years earlier when a highway robber was born?

An additional clue to his birth and death dates, are that Valmiki is credited with writing "Ramayana" which is impossible to accurately date but is estimated to be written between 500BC and 100BC

The most correct answer that I can give to the subject question is this..........

The answer to when Maharshi Valmiki was born is the same answer for when he died,

and that is.... A long long long time ago.
