The gentile that Paul brought into the temple was a man named Trophimus, who was from Ephesus. Paul's actions caused a riot among the Jews in Jerusalem as they falsely accused him of defiling the temple by bringing a non-Jew into the sacred area.
Depending on what you mean by "Greek religion" there could be two different explanations. You could mean the ancient Greek polytheistic temple worship, or you could mean the Early Greek Church. To both however, the answer is no; Catholicism was founded later then either of these.
A temple or a shrine in Ancient Greece was a place where people would go to worship their gods and goddesses. These structures were often elaborate and adorned with artwork and statues depicting the deities being honored. Temples were also used for religious ceremonies and offerings by the ancient Greeks.
The difference of them is that (in English) "church" first means the gathering of the people of God, and secondarily the building used by them for meeting to worship. Usually in English, "temple" refers to a non-Christian house of worship, as for example Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, etc. It's interesting to note that in Mexican Spanish "church (iglesia)" almost always refers to the group of believers and worshippers, while "temple (templo)" almost always refers to a house of worship, both Christian and non-Christian

This is certainly true in Greece itself as well as outside to a somewhat lesser extent. Most Greek Cypriots are adherents of the Greek Orthodox Church aswell, 77% of the Cypriot population.
The final, and most majestic temple of the acropolis is the Parthenon. It is the most important and characteristic monument of the ancient Greek civilization and still remains its international symbol. It was dedicated to Athena Parthenos, the patron goddess of Athens. It was built between 447 and 438 B.C. and its sculptural decoration was completed in 432 B.C.
