∙ 12y agoIn Hebrew it is called 'Har Megiddo' or hill (Tel) of Megiddo. It is first noted in Scripture in the Book of Joshua.
Megiddo controlled a narrow strategic stretch of road called the Via Maris, "the Way of the Sea," a major international highway in the ancient world. This road stretched from Egypt in the south to Babylon in Mesopotamia, linking the major empires and trade routes of the day. There was a major battle there in the 15th Century BC involving Egypt.
Today it is a quiet 'Tel.' The term 'Armageddon' is only used once in Revelation:16-6 as a staging area for the armies of both the Beast Power and the Hordes of the East, beguiled by the demon spirits to amass there.
They will march onwards down the Jezreel Valley of hill Megiddo towards Jesus at Jerusalem and be completely destroyed by His Mighty Word.
Originally Armageddon, in a theological sense, was another term for Calvary, where the forces of darkness met the forces of light, in which we see Jesus Christ going forther conquering and to conquer (Rev.6.2), releasing the prisoners from the prison house of sin, and returning a conquerer, having descended to meet the foe at Armageddon, Jesus Christ ascended, leading the enemy in chains behind Him, leading captivity captive.

If we continue to read from there, the Bible describes what happens immediately before, during, and after Armageddon. Jesus said at Matthew 7:21, that one 'doing the will of GOD' will be counted worthy. The prophecies that the Bible gave concerning when Armageddon is soon to occur are now being fullfilled. I invite you to read these prophecies for yourself at Matthew chapter 24, Luke chapter 21, Mark chapter 13, and 2 Timothy 3:1-4. I think it will be very eye opening for you to do so. So we have to find out what GOD's will is by taking in knowledge, then we must act on what we learn. Read your Bible, and pray to GOD, sincerely, that he show you the truth. Pray that he reveals his will to you, and when someone comes to show you what GOD's will is, listen.
