Cod are a cold water fish today normaly found in deeper areas of the ocean but many years ago there was alot of cod all over the coast lines of the Cape. Today cod fish is normaly caught off shore. However, a few years ago I caught a small cod while surf fishing. So to answer your question, yes. Alot of cod do come from Cape Cod but not all of it.
