According to Genesis 2: 17 the only thing that was required by God was not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and bad.

By not eating from the tree, the first couple would have shown their obedience to the One who gave them life. It would also have shown that they recognized God's right to direct their ways.

Jehovah gave Adam and Eve another command, which included a clear statement of the penalty if violated: " As for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die.

One scholar observes: " The inference of God's commands in Genesis 2: 16,17 is that only God knows what is not good... for them. To enjoy the good,' humankind must trust God and obey him. If they disobey, they will be left to decide for themselves what is good.... and what is not good." That is a burden that humans could not carry successfully on their own.

We have to admit that we do not always know what the outcome of our choices will be; nor do we know whether they will turn out for our good every time. That is why we so often see people make choices or decisions with all good intentions--only to have them result in suffering, disaster, or tragedy. Read Proverbs 14: 12. Human limitations play a large role.

Today our world is in turmoil and Jeremiah who was a prophet came to this conclusion in Jeremiah 10: 23. " It does not belong to man/woman who is walking even to direct his step. And Jesus expressed the same idea in Matthew 4: 4 in these words. "Man must live, not on bread alone, but on every word that comes from Jehovah's mouth.

Romans 5: 12 reads: " Just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because they had all sinned. The meaning of the word sin is ( Missed the goal ) The goal that mankind has missed is the priviledge to remain connected to the One who has the power to give life and make us live forever.

Genesis chapter 3 is mankind's history. Adam knew that if he did not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and bad he would not die. That command would have made no sense if Adam was meant to grow old and die anyway.

God's plan for mankind today is our reconcilation with Him, who has our best interest. Read John 17: 3; 1 Timothy 2: 4,5. Our future lies in the hands of the One who created mankind and our choice to live up to His requirements will set our future outcome. Adam and Eve had that choice, so do we.

Psalm 37: 29 reminds us that the righteous will possess the earth and they will live forever on it, which has always been God's purpose and has not changed, but only postponed.

The Bible teaches that God's kingdom will undo all the harm that millenniums of human rule have done. Read Daniel 2: 44 ; Matthew 6: 9,10

What is the forbidden fruit in the Koran?

In the Koran, the forbidden fruit is not explicitly mentioned by name, but it is generally understood to be any fruit from the tree that Allah commanded Adam and Eve not to eat from in the Garden of Eden. The story serves as a lesson about obedience, temptation, and the consequences of disobedience.

What is the fruit from the tree of life?

The Bible does not specify what the fruit was or what it looked like. I believe it was a specific fruit that was in the Garden of Eden exclusively. God banned Adam and Eve from the Garden and that put the tree out of the reach of man. I do not think that we have to worry about accidently eating the fruit today. The damage has already been done by Adam and Eve by eating the forbidden fruit and introducing sin into the world.

Did God punish Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden?

The traditional Christian view is that god punished Adam and Eve for eating the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. He told Eve she must bear children in pain and told Adam that one day he will die, then banished them from the Garden of Eden. This is emphasised in the teachings of Augustine who said that this was an original sin that stains us all. Some scholars say that Genesis depicts Adam and Eve, in their innocent state, as being unaware that they must die one day, so eating the fruit of the Tree of Life was of no interest to them. They ate the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge and learnt to understand good and evil, including that they would one day die. They had already eaten of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and were now like gods (Genesis 3:22: "And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us..."), except that they were still mortal. God told them what they now already knew: that Eve she must bear children in pain and that one day they will die. By eating of the Tree of Life, they would then also be immortal, so the only course left open to God was to banish Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden and place cherubim and a flaming sword across the path back to the Tree of Life. This was not a punishment, but a necessary result of their having become god-like.
