Samson did several things to the Philistines. The Book of Judges tells the story of Samson. See Judges 13:24 though 16:30. Not so much a trick but a riddle. Samson promised thirty linen garments and thirty changes of clothes for anyone who could figure it out wihin seven days of the marriage feast that was being held. Then he asked, "Out of the eater, something to eat; out of the strong, something sweet." The Philistines couldn't get it right at all. So then they went to Samson's wife and begged her to get the answer from him. Samson gave her the answer, she went to the Philistines and they told him the answer from his wife. That's when he became very angry and killed thirty men to keep his word. But as in the bible he left that "heifer".
The Israelite tribe that turned Samson over to the Philistines for money was the tribe of Judah. They handed him over in exchange for silver.
Samson was betrayed to the Philistines by Delilah, a woman who had been bribed by them to discover the secret of his strength. She cut his hair, the source of his power, leading to his capture and eventual death.

The site where Samson slaughtered many Philistines is known as the temple of Dagon in Gaza, as described in the biblical story in the Book of Judges.
According to the Bible, Samson killed 1,000 men with the jawbone of an ass. This event is recorded in the Book of Judges, chapter 15.
According to the Old Testament, in Judges 16:21, the Philistines gouged out Samson's eyes. There is no mention of his eyes or any other part of Samson being burned.
Samson
God raised up Samson from the womb as a Nazirite to begin the deliverance of Israel from the Philistines. It was only a beginning as the Israelites and the Philistines fought for many years. God gave Samson great physical strength to fight against the Philistines and he alone killed thousands.
Samson was captured by the philistines , as he was week due to the hair was cut.
Samson
Samuel
That was Delilah. The story is found in Judges 16.
The Israelite tribe that turned Samson over to the Philistines for money was the tribe of Judah. They handed him over in exchange for silver.
Delilah and Samson met in the context of Samson's conflicts with the Philistines. Delilah was from the Valley of Sorek, a Philistine territory, and caught Samson's attention due to her beauty. The Philistines bribed her to discover the secret of Samson's strength, leading to a relationship that ultimately resulted in betrayal. Their meetings were characterized by both romance and deception, culminating in Samson's downfall.
Samson lived in the latter part of the time of the judges. Samson was a judge. (not a judge like we have today, but a judge in that time period delivered Israel out of the hand of their enemies and brought them closer to God.) We are told in Judges 16:4b "....... that He (God) was seeking an occasion to move against the Philistines. For at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel". God raised up Samson to incite war against the Philistines. The Philistines had taken over parts of Israel and were treating the people very badly. God wanted this to stop. Samson was the first Judge to encounter the Philistines. It was not until the time of David that the Philistines were defeated badly enough to stop being a power against Israel. Samson's basic area of war against the Philistines was Zorah, which was in the territory of the Tribe of Dan. If you will recall it was David as a lad before he became King who took his sling and 5 smooth pebbles (Rocks) and put one between the eyes of Goliath who was a mercenary of the Philistines.
The Philistines punished Samson by capturing him after he was betrayed by Delilah. They gouged out his eyes, bound him with bronze chains, and forced him to work as a grinder in prison. Eventually, they brought him to a temple for a public display, where he was mocked and humiliated. In a final act of strength, Samson prayed to God for revenge and collapsed the temple, killing himself and many Philistines.
