Joshua was a friend of Moses, and was one of the spies sent into the Promised Land. He has his sidekick, Caleb, were the only two who said that with God's help that they could take the land that had been promised to them.

God was so upset with the Israelites' lack of faith in Him, that He caused the Israelites to wander for forty years in the wilderness, until the only people who had left Egypt and were still alive were Moses, Joshua and Caleb. Moses went up to the mountain to see the land and died there, leaving Joshua to lead the Israelites in.

Faith and loyalty were his strengths.

Joshua's strength in The Bible was his faithfulness and courage in leading the Israelites to conquer the Promised Land. His weaknesses included moments of doubt and disobedience, such as the incident with the Gibeonites where he was deceived into making a treaty against God's commands.
