"imago Dei" which means, "God's image" is how we were created. If indeed we are created by God than this is of utmost importance and needs to be taken completely seriously. If God, the most powerful being, who MADE us, is true, and The Bible it true, then it shows that living for God is the only thing that matters!

If the Bible isn't true, then what is the purpose of life? this must be considered. We cannot live life on the fence, we must give everything to God, or else we are an enemy of God...and what a scary thing that is! (Hebrews 10:31) "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God"

So we must consider these things, make sure we know what we believe, or else we will waste this life and it will all be in vain.

James 4:4 -"You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God."

What is the term divine fiat means in Genesis?

"Divine fiat" in Genesis refers to the concept of God creating the world through the power of His spoken word. In the creation narrative in Genesis, God brings things into existence by simply stating, "Let there be," and it is so. This emphasizes the idea of God's supreme authority and power over creation.

Which version of Creation is correct Genesis 1 v1-2 or Genesis 2 v4-25?

Most Bible scholars generally accept the notion that Genesis 1 (more than verses 1 & 2) give an "overview" of creation, while Genesis 2 gives more detail, focusing in on Adam, Eve, and the critters. Another theory, not well accepted by the "young Earth" believers, is that there is a "gap" between Genesis 1 and Genesis 2. See the Related Link "Wikipedia: Gap Creationism" for more information. _________________________________One of the many problems with the "gap" theory is that if GOD had created another Earth before this one, then it would show Him to be imperfect and that what He created was flawed and thus rendering all of GOD's Word to be incorrect because we read in Genesis 1:31 "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." If there was a "gap" between 1 & 2, why would God destroy the "very good" creation and keep the flawed one? It is only after the fall in chapter 3 that the only creation mentioned in the Bible stopped being "very good." Romans 5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" So, since what Romans tells us is correct, it was because of the fall of man that death entered the world. Man was created to live forever in fellowship with GOD and the fall separated man from GOD and it was Jesus who came and bridged the gap between sinful man and Holy GOD. So if there was a "gap" between chapters 1 & 2 in Genesis then death would have been before the fall of man and not after thus making the Holy Word of God untrue, but since we know that death is a real fact of life we also know that before the fall there was no "gap" and no death. So, therefore, it is safe to say that the creation account recorded in Genesis:# Shows the "general" overall record of creation# and then zero's in on the details of that creation.

Why are there two creation stories in Genesis?

There are two different creation stories:The first is Genesis 1:1-2:3The second is Genesis 2:4-25It is thought this is due to several different texts being put together to form the present Bible and TorahAnswerScholars now realise that there were three main sources, or authors, for the Book of Genesis. There are two creation stories in Genesis because two different sources, the Yahwist and the Priestly Source each wrote his own story. The Yahwist wrote the second creation story (Genesis 2:4b-20) during the ninth century BCE, based on earlier Judahite traditions. The Priestly Source wrote what is now the first creation story (Genesis 1:!-2:4a) during the sixth-century-BCE Babylonian Exile, based on traditions he found among the Babylonians. It appears the Priestly Source was prevented from removing the earlier tradition or found it too difficult, since the Yahwist creation story more or less continues all the way to Noah. Instead, he simply added his own version at the beginning of Genesis.AnswerThe Yahwist and Priestly sources are not from individual authors, most likely, but from different groups with different schools of thought in very different times (during the kingdom as opposed to exile, as noted in previous answer). Also, these two sources, as well as the Elohist, the other source for Genesis, are woven together with the Deuternomist (D) source throughout the rest of the Pentateuch (Gen -Deut), with D being primarily in, and the primary source for, our book of Deuteronomy,That being said, these sources are very, very often woven together without any real apparent concern for explaining inconsistent detailsHowever, this does not disprove the Bible. My take is that we misread some of the Bible. This part, for instance, is not history of the world spoken word - for - word by God. Rather, ancient writers did not think about history the same way moderns do, with strict concern for preciseness. Rather, they were making theological claims about who God is over and against the claims of competing pagan religions in Canaan and Babylon

What is the difference between the Christian creation story and the Hindu creation story?

The Hindu creation story resembles many others around the world. It relies on 3 'good' things - Vishnu (God), Brahma the Servant (Christ) and a Lotus flower (Holy Spirit) and a Cobra snake or serpent. Brahma creates by Vishnu's commands. He uses the Lotus flower to do some of this. Never got farther to see how the snake fits in. The Biblical Creation story (stories) has the chronology of the heavens and the earth and all life upon it. It then 'begins' the genealogy sections - 11 in all starting with Adam in Genesis 2:4 and Genesis 5. Genesis means beginnings and this is the theme in the early chapters. Genesis speaks of Elohim - the Majestic Plural for the single term of God - indicating more than one God person. In John 1:1, this term is defined to be God the Father and Jesus Christ, His begotten Son (new relationship as He was the Word in Genesis). So the God Family only had 2 members at that time and now. At the 2nd Coming, the firstfruits will become the spiritual 'bride' of Christ and in the Great White Throne Judgement process, 10s of billions will have their 1st chance to repent, be baptized and follow Christ. They will become full spiritual sons & daughters in the God Family. Any who refuse or lost their 1st opportunity or are just totally incorrigible, will be cast into the Lake of Fire to die the 2nd death.
