Ibn Battuta was one. He went all around Africa from Morocco, then to Afghanistan, and from there to China and back. This was all before 1369, and it was even more impressive than Marco Polo's travels.

Zheng He was a muslim chinese who sailed the seas up to Africa before 1433.

Mustafa Zemmouri is considered the first african to set foot on the american continent. Although he was a spanish slave and not an explorer per se, he did a fair bit of exploring himself.
