The two Witnesses of Revelation are given the power of Prophecy and they prophesy for 3 1/2 years before bing killed. For 3 days their bodies lie in the streets until God ressurects them and then they ascend into heaven. The names of these to Prophets are not given in Revelation, however there are several views on who they may be.
Christians believe that the two prophets of Revelation (witnesses) will be Enoch and Elijah as (according to The Bible) neither of them saw death.
2 Kings 2:1 tells us that Elijah was taken by God in a whirlwind to heaven and that he does not see death.
Hebrews 5:11 tells us that Enoch was "translated by God so that he should not see death"
The reason it is beleived by Christians that the two Witnesses of Revelation will be Enoch and Elijah is rather simple. The Bible tells us that "it is appointed unto man to once die.." Since neither Enoch or Elijah saw "death" it is believed that God will retun them to the earth to Prophesy for 3 1/2 years until they are killed, ressurected, and ascended back into heaven to fulfill the law of man's apointment with death.
The last Judge was Samson, and the first major prophet was Samuel.
Ezekiel and Daniel are called Exilic prophets because they prophesied during the time of the Israelite exile in Babylon. Their messages addressed the challenges faced by the Israelites during this period and provided hope for restoration and redemption. Their books contain a mix of prophecies about the exile, the eventual return to the Promised Land, and visions of future events.
the two types of prophets are major and minor. It major and minor is referred to as the length of their books not importance. major are: Isaiah, Lamentations, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel minor are: the 12 books between hosea to malachi
Both the prophets that did not die are Elijah and Enoch.
The difference between the two is that the books of the major prophets were more in chapters, so could well have more prophecies , the minor prophets had less chapters in their book , and so less prophecies.
The meaning of exile prophets means prophets who worked while in exile like daniel, post exile prophets are prophets just before a exile came like Jeremiah.

Jewish answer: The false prophets, at long last, were silenced forever. They had predicted that no Destruction would take place. Also, the lure of idolatry finally weakened, since the Destruction and Exile happened exactly as predicted by the true Prophets, who were the same ones who had spoken ceaselessly against dabbling in idolatry.
The Babylonian exile showed that the warnings of the Torah (Leviticus ch.26) were serious and were prophecies that had now come true, with all that that implies. The Babylonian exile exonerated the true prophets such as Jeremiah, and exposed the lies of the false prophets.
It put an end to the monarchy, to the false prophets (who had predicted that there would be no exile) and to the dabbling in idolatry.
At the time of the Destruction, the false prophets at long last were silenced forever. They had predicted that Judah would remain independent of Babylonia (Jeremiah ch.27) and no Destruction would take place. Also, the lure of idolatry finally weakened, since the Destruction and Exile happened exactly as predicted by the true Prophets, who were the same ones who had spoken ceaselessly against dabbling in idolatry. These two developments gave the Jews increased impetus to serve God and obey the Torah.See also:Did Judaism change?
